Back in action! The legendary, swashbuckling but savvy Knight Rider is back to take you to the edge of your seat.

"Fly By Knight" -The Knight Industries Three Thousand in Attack Mode
NBC came up with several descriptions for the upcoming episodes of Knight Rider, with some unknown spoiler details. But there appears to be some problems on how the succeeding episodes should be tagged. While several titles were proposed, no definite titles were chosen to describe the new surprises that would be showcased by the hero in the mega high-tech character-hero. Consistency and continuity to maintain high viewership will suffer in the long run if the title description crisis is not solved. A bit frustrating? Expect more surprises in the next few days…

The Queen is to set to ‘go green’ by having her two gas-guzzling state Bentleys converted to run on biofuels. This is part of a move by the British luxury car-maker to become more environmentally friendly - and a new biofuel-burning high-performance car is expected in the New Year.
The Volkswagen-owned, Crewe-based company is to produce a new range of engines which will offer a 40 per cent improvement in fuel economy by 2012, with all new vehicles able to run on the plant-derived fuel. But the ‘flex-fuel’ system, as it’s called, will also allow the vehicles to run on conventional petrol.
Bentley executives said the Royal Family had been extremely supportive of moves to go green and it would be relatively simple to replace the engines of the two state limousines that they presented to the Queen and continue to maintain.

The “Best Buy” award is given to vehicles representing the finest balance of attributes and price within their classes and for being the best choices for consumers.
“We are pleased but not surprised to have our vehicles recognized yet again,” said Michael Sprague, vice president, marketing of Kia Motors America (KMA). “Having three of our vehicles named by Consumer Guide Automotive reflects Kia Motors’ commitment to offering consumers value-minded and comfortable vehicles with outstanding quality and safety features.”

(AOL Autos) — You don’t have to look too far into the past to find a time when automakers didn’t see car safety as a “selling point.” But over the last 30 years, car safety has become a prime factor in the minds of car buyers.
So, automakers responded — and as a result, cars and trucks are much safer today than they were 30, 20, even 10 years ago.
One car segment that has especially benefited from this overall improvement in safety is the sub-compact category. And it’s a good thing, too, because as gas prices have soared in the last two years, more buyers are turning away from big trucks, monster SUVs and gas-thirsty muscle cars in favor of smaller, more fuel-efficient vehicles.
Indeed, the small-car category is the fastest-growing segment in the U.S. auto industry, with sales increasing by 12 percent this year, and everyone expects that growth to continue as long as gas prices keep rising — or even if they just hold steady and don’t drop. That’s why many automakers have even more sub-compact models in their product pipelines.
So, as Americans’ buying preferences have shifted to smaller vehicles, the old debate about the safety of small cars has ignited anew. Some drivers who’ve been in an SUV for the last six years have been apprehensive about not being surrounded by a massive steel structure and a few dozen feet of sheet metal.

How times have indeed changed. Gone are the days when GM used to boast that “General Motors is America and America is General Motors.” As United States of America have started to subside and the reality of America’s economic problems have began to pinch hard on ordinary Americans. One of the major problems of Americans is General Motors (GM), which was once the biggest automaker in the world, until it was overtaken or dislodged by Toyota Motors. GM now claims that it is running out of cash and is seeking financial assistance from the US government.
GM showed us their research facility in Troy, Michigan, which was a one-square mile facility that showed us the future of GM’s cars. It was there that I first saw GM’s electric car. This car was the EV-1 which went into production for about a year, but GM pulled it out because of poor sales as gasoline prices were still very inexpensive. GM lost a golden opportunity to help America from its dependence on Arab oil. They had the right car at the wrong time! Time is exactly what GM wants, otherwise they might end up with the other motoring greats like Packard, American Motors or Studebaker.
For this year, GM, Ford and Chrysler experienced record losses because they are selling the same old cars that nobody wants to buy. So the race for an electric or hydrogen powered vehicle is on. GM Vice-Chairman Bob Lutz intends to have the Chevy Volt on the showrooms by the year 2010. What will GM sell next year? The same old 2008 models that no one is buying? GM is short on cash and scared that it may have to lay off hundreds if not thousands of its autoworkers.
GM CEO Rick Wagoner openly admitted that killing the EV-1 was a bad mistake and they intend to fix this with the new Chevy Volt. Because of the recession the world gasoline prices has plummeted to record lows, despite the Oil Producing & Exporting Countries (OPEC) efforts to cut production by a million barrels per day. Already talk is ripe about a merger between GM and Chrysler, which if it materializes will leave America with only two auto manufacturers, Ford and GM.
Perhaps the only positive side to Barack Obama’s election is his commitment to ensure Americans that they will no longer be dependent on Arab oil during his term. This means, under the Obama Presidency, he will be fully supportive of US Auto industry so they can retool their manufacturing capabilities to build fuel efficient or even better, electric vehicles for the world markets. This alone promises a better future for America. If the rest of the automotive world follows (Honda already has a commercial hydrogen car sold to celebrities), then we can look forward to a cleaner environment with these new breed of cars.
We hope that GM can meet its 2010 target to bring the electric car to the world’s showrooms. When this happens, you can bet that the car you are driving today will suddenly feel like it came from the Jurassic age. But the plus factors are unquantifiable, no more polluting cars, no more dependence on Arab oil therefore, the world would no longer be under the stranglehold grip of OPEC. The future doesn’t look bad after all!

Start your engines! Princes William and Harry prepare for a 1,000-mile motorcycle trek across South Africa, leaving from Durban Saturday on the first of an eight-day ride to Port Elizabeth. Harry, a lieutenant in the Blues and Royals Household Cavalry regiment, joked about spending time away from home with his brother. “We never really get to spend any time together,” he said. “But it’s great fun – well, I don’t know yet, we’ll have to tell you. We might argue [or] we might have a bit of fun. We’ll have to see how it goes, but we’re really looking forward to it.”
Sitting on Honda CRF 230cc bikes in their protective biker gear, the princes spoke to reporters about the trip that organizers have called an “endurance test” across rocky and dangerous terrain.
“It’s not just a bimble across the countryside that’s for sure,” Harry, 24, said. “It’s going to be very challenging and we’re expecting to fall off many a time.”
They will cross more than 70 rivers and the off-road trail is both “rocky and hilly,” William, 26, said.
William, who begins training in January to be an Royal Air Force helicopter pilot, joked about the river crossings: “We’ve got our arm bands in our back. We’re ready to go.”
Harry added: “We never really knew what to expect, but by the sounds of things – the talks we were given last night – I went to bed shaking and didn’t sleep that well.”
“The pain of spending a week with my brother is well worth it,” William quipped.
The trip aims to raise money for three charities, including Harry’s own Sentebale cause that helps disadvantaged young people in the African mountain kingdom of Lesotho, as well as Unicef and the Nelson Mandela’s Children Fund.
